Kennedy White House Vice Presidential Lighter with Gift Box

Used and Owned by Special Agent George Hickey

This is an actual Kennedy White House era Vice Presidential Lighter from the estate of Special Agent George W. Hickey. The lighter appears to have been unused and both the lighter and its original box are in amazing condition for their age please see photos. Special Agent George W. Hickey was a Secret Service Agent assigned for executive protection for The Kennedy White House and he was assigned to the lead follow up car on the fateful Dallas motorcade on  22 Nov 1963. The Warren Commission reported: "Special Agent George W. Hickey, Jr., in the rear seat of the Presidential follow-up car, picked up and cocked an automatic rifle as he heard the last shot. At this point the cars were speeding through the underpass and had; left the scene of the shooting, but Hickey kept the automatic weapon ready as the car raced to the hospital. Most of the other Secret Service agents in the motorcade had drawn their sidearm. What has unfortunately made George Hickey famous and what will forever tie him to the end of Camelot is that he was accused of being the person responsible for the Death of President Kennedy by Bonar Menninger in both a book called Mortal error and later a documentary titled JFK The Smoking Gun. He claimed that after the first shot, Hickey stood up and lost his balance, and accidentally discharging his gun into the back of Kennedy’s head. The photos of the Hickey are just for reference and are not included however I am including a copy of Special Agent George Hickey's Executive Office building ID Tag as well as his Association of Retired Secret Service Agents ID Card. $150.00

Johnson as President

President Kennedy / Johnson Esterbrook Presidential Bill Signer

with Genuine Esterbrook Stand

This is a genuine Esterbrook White House Bill Signer. These pens where ordered by and made for the Kennedy White House to be used by President Kennedy’s as an official presidential bill signer.  After the tragic assassination of JFK President Johnson continued to use the left over Esterbrook pens as a bill signer. President Johnson was never a fan of these pens and decided to order different pens to be used as his official bill signers shortly after he took office. So the Johnson White House never actually ordered any of these pens that were made so famous by The Kennedy White House. This pen is in very good condition and it comes with an original vintage Esterbrook dip fountain pen stand which also make a great display stand for This Presidential Bill Signer.

Here is a great chance to get a Presidential items tied to both the Kennedy and Johnson White House.

President Johnson Bill Signing Pen

This is an official bill signing pen made for President Johnson. Johnson never liked the Esterbrook bill signers used by President Kennedy and while he did continue to use them when he first took office, he made a point of changing them when he had the chance. President Johnson ended up choosing the Parker Eversharp pen as his official bill signer. This was the first Parker pen to be used as an official Presidential bill signer though it would not be the last.  Johnson was also the first President to have his bill signing pens in special presentation boxes and these Eversharps were the first Presidential bill signer to have a special presentation box to go with the pen. The Esterbrooks came in a cheep flimsy cardboard box with no special Presidential markings and were often thrown away before they were ever used and given out as President Kennedy would often have a dozen pens taken out at once and put on a special tray to be used during his bill signing ceremonies. These Johnson Parker Eversharp pens came in two verities one with a gold finish LBJ used as an official Presidential gift and this rarer one with a silver finish that President Johnson used exclusively as a bill signer.  The box shows a little ware and there are some stains in the inside of the box both normal for a items of this age. The pen still has its original ink cartridge though it has long since dried out so this is being sold as a historical collectible not as a working pen.  SOLD

President Johnson VIP Gift Pen

These Johnson Parker Eversharp pens came in two verities one with a gold finish LBJ used as an official VIP Presidential gift like this one  and one with a silver finish that President Johnson used exclusively as a bill signer. Both of these pens came in the same white presentation box with The Presidential Seal and President Johnson's signature across the top.  The pen itself bear The Presidential Seal and President Johnson's signature as well as you can see from photos.  as the words "The White House". The pen is in good condition with very little wear and only a few light scratches to show sign of light use. The presentation box is also in good condition for its age with only light toning and staining please see photos. $125.00

Early Matchbook from Air Force One used by  JFK & LBJ

This is full book of matches. These are the oldest matchbooks I have seen foe 26000 the first Jet used exclusively to be the Presidential Aircraft. This was the same jet first just by President Kennedy and the same Jet that latter flew his body back to Washington and on which LBJ was sworn in as President so its a important peace of American history. The biggest difference in this matchbook from the latter version is it does not have the word Aboard before Air Force One which was a tradition used on Air Force One matchbooks started during the Nixon administration. This matchbook in unused.  $25.00
