Very Rare "Swiped" President Truman Cigarette Case

This is a fantastic piece of Presidential history that shows the rarely seen sense of humor of President Truman. This is a rare official Presidential gift from the Truman White House. Despite the inscription I cannot guaranty this was actually stolen off of the desk of president Truman I can guaranty it is in fact a very rare President Truman VIP gift. This cigarette case is in very nice shape for its age with only a few scratch as can be seen in the photos. The printing while slightly worn is still strong. This case is also fairly heavy and well made not like the much lighter Truman era campaign cigarette case that I have seen.  I obtained this directly from the personal collection of a former White House staffer. These are very hard to find and I have only seen one other for sale  in all my years of presidential  collecting. This is truly a museum quality item. $500.00

President Truman White House Gift Lighter

This is a very rare President Truman official White personal gift lighter. These lighter were known to often be carried bt President Truman in his coat pocket and given out personally by him. I have only seen two of these lighters go up for sale both were attributed as personal gift from Harry Truman given directly to White House employees. One to Lillian Roger Parks his favorite personal maid and one to Secret Service agent Frank Stoner. What makes this particular one even more rare is it still comes with its original tin and protective bag. This is a true museum quality Truman Presidential gift. $350.00

Very Rare President Truman White House Table Lighter "Christmas Gift"

This is a beautiful set of two matching official White House Table lighters from The Truman White House. They are done in beautiful traditional festive Christmas colors of green and red. From the research I have done these Truman table lighters were used both in The Truman White House and as official Presidential gifts. These would make the perfect Christmas gift for any Truman or Presidential collector. The lighters are in very good condition for their age but show signs of normal light use and ware. They show very light aging and scratching, please see detailed photos. I picked both these President Truman gift lighters in Christmas colors green and red as a set. They both came directly from a family that worked for The Truman White House. $700.00

Rare President Truman White House Mechanical Pencil

This is rare and hard to find President Truman official White House mechanical pencil that I obtained directly from the personal collection of a former White House staffer. Mechanical pencils were considered pretty high tech for the day. This is a fairly large mechanical pencil a good 5 3/4" long and fairly thick. It bears the inscription.

"From

Harry S. Truman The White house

Washington D. C."

However what makes this pencil truly special is there is a black and white photo of President Truman sitting at his desk in The Oval Office at the top of this mechanical pencil. This item is in excellent condition with only slight yellowing on the white part. There is no lead left so I cannot check the functionality of this mechanical pencil so I am selling it as a Truman White collectible only. $300.00

Official Senator John F Kennedy Sterling Silver Pen

This is a very rare hard to find Sterling Silver Imperial Pen made for then Senator John F Kennedy by silvercraft. Silvercraft took pens of other manufacturers and added a sterling silver overlay over the barrel.  Silvercraft made a couple of different pens for JFK first as Senator, then for the Inauguration and finely as Presidential gifts. This pen is an Imperial ball point pen marked Sterling. The pen has a stencil cut filigree design on the barrel and the words "Senator John F. Kennedy" This pen shows some natural age and toning but it is in good shape and in working order, though it will need a new cartridge to write. According to the Guernsey's JFK auction were one of these pens was featured these pens were not only given out by Senator Kennedy but he frequently used them himself as well. The last 2 photos are for reference only. It is the pen that was featured in the Guernsey auction which is the same type of pen that I have here. $995.00

Rare Kennedy White House Parker Gift Pen

This is an original Parker jotter gift pen made for The Kennedy White House and given out by President Kennedy to official visitors. They were first used in 1962 and we have documentation to this in a letter written in 1962 by Evelyn Lincoln (President Kennedy's personal secretary) to Mr. Daniel Parker (The President of The Parker Pen Company) thanking him for furnishing the President with specially imprinted "Jotter" ball points for use as "Presentations and Mementos". These Parker Jotters are one of the most famous or perhaps infamous of all pens associated with The Kennedy White House. In fact these pens have an almost mystical appeal. One of the reason for this is because the Kennedy Presidential Library reproduced these pens and sold them at the library. Unscrupulous or unknowing dealers often tried to represent these reproduction as true priceless treasure from Camelot. According to John Loring who wrote the bible on Presidential Pens.  The original pens can be easily be distinguished from the reproduction by the following Kennedy's signature is smaller in the original close to the same length of the wording The White House. The original pens have metal thread on the inside the newer one are plastic. The Threading on the original is finer and the reproduction threading is thicker and has a notch above the threading. The top of the pen on the originals is more smooth without the ridge on the reproductions.  The pen shows very little use and it is in fantastic condition for its age with only a few very light scratches. The pen still works and even writes, while the filter is very old it may not be original, Parker still makes modern filter for these pens . You can now own an original piece of Camelot that is one of the most famous and replicated of all Kennedy White House gifts.  The last photo is of one of these rare pens that belonged to Evelyn Lincoln, Kennedy's personal White House secretary and was sold at the famous Guernsey's Kennedy White auction and is provided for reference only. $1100.00

Original Kennedy White House Parker 45 Gift Pen

This is an original Parker 45 made for The Kennedy White House and given out by President Kennedy in his later years in The White House. According to John Loring who wrote the bible on Presidential Pens the parker 45 was JFK's standard gift pen in the latter part of his administration. In fact one of these pens was found in one of his oval office desk drawers when he was assassinated. These Kennedy White House Parker 45 are one of the most difficult to find and sought after Kennedy items there are. They are even harder to find then the first Kennedy White House Jotters. While they were not reproduced by The Kennedy Library there are modern fakes out there which unscrupulous or unknowing dealers often try to represent these reproduction as true treasure from Camelot. According to John Loring the actually Kennedy White House Parker 45 can be verified using most of the same methods used to authenticate the earlier Kennedy White House Parker Jotters from the Kennedy Library reproductions. The top of the pen on the originals is smoother then the reproductions. This pen meets all the requirements of an original pen, so if you are looking for a rare Kennedy item look no further. This is as rare as it gets in fact this is the only the second of these pens I have ever had, and the first sold fast. In short this is a truly magnificent piece of Camelot that is almost impossible to find in any condition and to find one like this in fantastic condition with its original box is almost unheard of. $1350.00

Secret Service White House ID Pin

Used and Owned by Special Agent George Hickey

This is an actual Kennedy White House era Secret Service White House identification pin from the estate of Special Agent George W. Hickey. This pin shows some signs of actually have been warn but it is in very good condition for its age please see photos. They are gold fairly large I include the photo of the pin being offered sitting on a Kennedy White House matchbook for size comparison they are not included. Special Agent George W. Hickey was a Secret Service Agent assigned for executive protection for The Kennedy White House and he was assigned to the lead follow up car on the fateful Dallas motorcade on  22 Nov 1963. The Warren Commission reported: "Special Agent George W. Hickey, Jr., in the rear seat of the Presidential follow-up car, picked up and cocked an automatic rifle as he heard the last shot. At this point the cars were speeding through the underpass and had; left the scene of the shooting, but Hickey kept the automatic weapon ready as the car raced to the hospital. Most of the other Secret Service agents in the motorcade had drawn their sidearms. What has unfortently made George Hickey famous and what will forever tie him to the end of Camelot is that he was accused of being the person responsible for the Death of President Kennedy by Bonar Menninger in both a book called Mortal error and later a documentary titled JFK The Smoking Gun. He claimed that after the first shot, Hickey stood up and lost his balance, and accidentally discharging his gun into the back of Kennedy’s head. The photos of the Hickey are just for reference and are not included however I am including a copy of Special Agent George Hickey's Executive Office building ID Tag as well as his Association of Retired Secret Service Agents ID Card. $100.00

Extraordinarily Rare Reagan Assassination Pen

This is the rarest President Reagan Pen I have ever had. This pen is from a incredibly historical significant point in American history. The 1981 assignation attempt of President Ronald Reagan and his miraculous recovery. It is the opinion of many historians that the assassination attempt and Presidential Reagan's remarkable recover and the way he was able to brilliantly turn the resulting sympathy and good will into political capital that steam rolled over Democratic objection to his political agenda.

This is a pen especial made for president Reagan's emergency surgery and recovery at George Washington University Hospital,  From March to April o1981.It was given out to his Doctors and Support Staff in attendance. I got this directly from a person who was among the first wave of White House people that swarmed the hospital when the President was brought there. He spent 4 straight days there before he was relived. He was again at the hospital during the later part of his stay and it was for that service that he received the pen.

While Presidential gifts including pens are often made for Presidential Trips or special occasions I have only heard of one other pen made for a hospital stay or procedure and that was the one Regan gave out to his Doctors and support staff for his prostrate operation in 1987.

This is the only one of these pens I have ever seen come up for sale or in fact actually seen in person. Hopefully there will never again be a reson for sucg a pen to be made. I cant begin to state how rare this pen is and saying that it is in a fact a true museum piece is barely scratching the surface.  The pen itself is in excellent conditions.

Printed on the pen is the following.

 Thanks for your Prayers

Ronald Reagan

George Washington University Hospital

March - April 1981
